What a way to start the new year! I’m totally gloating, but…I just won the Digital Wedding Forum’s 2007 Wedding Image of the Year! This image is one of my favorite of all time. It was shot at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY. The ceremony was moved into a hospital room so the bride’s parents could both attend. Both parents had recently become ill. The hospital staff was amazing! The staff constructed an alter using hospital sheets, a nurse sang “Ave Maria,” as the bride entered, and a group of nurses threw cereal as the bride and groom made their exit.I love this image, not because it is a technical masterpiece, but because there is so much love! First, the love of the couple for each other, the love of the couple for their parents (how many couples would do this for their parents?), the mother who is overcome with emotion, and the dad who can’t help but to clap with joy.
